China's First Waldorf School

40 images Created 23 Oct 2014

The Steiner Waldorf School in Chengdu is the biggest and first Waldorf affiliated school in China. It opened its doors in 2004, initially as a child care centre but has now expanded into a large kindergarten, middle school and soon, potentially a high school. With hundreds of pupils and a waiting list of years for new students the alternative education has proved popular against the state schools which are exam and results driven. Here is a selection of photos of the Chengdu Waldorf school and portraits of 'Waldorf families.' Further images are available on request.

Also available are images of a Waldorf kindergarten in Beijing.
